IPTE Factory Automation (FA) can now celebrate a remarkable record: number 500 of its highly successful PCB depaneler series, a SpeedRouter machine, is now in operation at Continental's Regensburg/Germany manufacturing site.
Dr. Andreas Licha, Managing Director of IPTE Germany GmbH, points out, "The flexible and universal design of our PCB router equipment fully meets the particular requirements of our customers. The machines prove themselves in practice in numerous installations and applications every day. This is the best argument for the assertion that our depaneler equipment optimally fits in the wide ranging demands from the market and the customers as well". As he further comments, "We are notably glad that this specific machine, marking the outstanding record number, has been delivered to Continental, one of our best customers. That's one of the reasons why IPTE FA is, for example, also the "Preferred Supplier" at Continental sites globally for the EasyRouter machine line for both the in-line and off-line models".
Bernd Kapp, unit production manager FF1 Continental Regensburg, acknowledged, "We are working with a couple of IPTE PCB depanelers in our lines. And we can say that they perform well, we are deeply contented with their performance in regard to quality and availability".
With its model SpeedRouter, launched 1998, IPTE has made possible highly flexible machine configurations capable for in-line integration which allow for the absolutely reliable and stress-free routing process of large panels containing multiple boards. According to the PCB layout the routing was done with milling and sawing actions, or by a combination of both cutting methods. The SpeedRouter design addresses, as its name implies, especially high-speed depaneling applications. The modular depaneler system can be equipped with a multitude of different tools, heads, clamping mechanisms, and also with loading and unloading modules for in-line and off-line applications as well. IPTE's large portfolio of options and add-ons for the system periphery efficiently support the integration in already existing lines. The SpeedRouter depaneler is also best suited for specific requirements in applications where tight tolerances are of high priority.
IPTE can provide the appropriate solution for practically every depaneling application from its full-sized set of different router systems, depending on product mix, the manufacturing quantity and the degree of automation needed on the shop floor. The enhanced system portfolio now consists of the EasyRouter, TopRouter, FlexRouter II, SpeedRouter and the 1D model. Through continual enhancements and upgrades of the machine technology and concepts, IPTE's depanelers clearly stand for ,,state-of-the-art" in this equipment category. As useful equipment addition to the router portfolio, IPTE FA offers complete and individually configured turnkey solutions for the successive handling of the singulated PCBs and board assemblies, just comprising handling, component insertion and many other back-end processes up to electrical testing and final product packing.
