Manual EOL, HV & Climate Chamber Test
BMC: Battery Management ECU
MCU Battery Monitoring ECU (12 - 48 channels)
BMC: A battery management Unit (BMC) is any electronic system that manages a rechargeable battery (cell or battery pack), such as by protecting the battery from operating outside its safe operating area, monitoring its state, calculating secondary data, reporting that data, controlling its environment, authenticating it and / or balancing it. The MCU module is found close to the battery.
A battery pack built together with a battery management system with an external communication data bus is a smart battery pack. A smart battery pack must be charged by a smart battery charger.
This product realizes HV and EOL test of a battery controller module (BMC) and a Battery Monitoring Unit (MCU).
The EOL test is done at Ambient temperature, while a separated setup ensures the EOL test with products in a climat chamber for testing at -40 C and 85C.
IPTE designed a dedicated switching panel in order to control the EOL tests and a up to 2*6 modules mux for climat chamber.
The high current performance is simulated by using current shunts, and the switching matrix has been designed to withstand the high voltages (600 V). During the test, the ADCs will be calibrated. The battery monitoring modules are tested balanced and unbalanced.
