The IPTE Solar Cell Test & Sort is a modular design that consists out of tester and a sorter function. The tester is delivered as per default with the IPTE flash solar simulator T1200L that is designed to test photovoltaic devices up to 6” x 6” size; although the tester can also be equipped with other classification equipment such as a print inspection.
A Current-Voltage (I-V) measurement system for use in both in-line high volume production and off-line quality control environments is available. The IPTE flash solar simulator T1200L utilizes a heavy duty xenon flash lamp and AM1.5G calibrated solar filter to approximate the sun’s spectral distribution following IEC 60904-9 Class A standard. The connection to the solar cell is realized with an exchangeable fixture to enable quick change-over between different cell types. It contains ultra small contacting bars optimized for maximum irradiation of the active cell area and best performance. The IPTE flash solar simulator fires flashes of light to measure the performance of a photovoltaic device without heating it. In each flash, an I-V data point of the photovoltaic device can be captured by connecting it to the IPTE current-voltage measurement system.
Following the testers, the cells are transferred to the sorter. The sorter collects the data of the available testers, analyses it towards the programmed criteria from the recipe and defines the destination bin. By means of vacuum gripper the cell is picked up and moved to the respective packaging boxes, ready for shipment to your customer. Each bin status is showed in a graphical way on the touch screen and can be accessed from both sides of the sorter. One sorter comes per default with 24 bins and can be placed in series to increase the total bin quantities.
